Background:
Canadian school children across the country have been touched by the plight of a young Vietnamese boy who has a large tumour of blood vessels on his face. Feeling compelled to help him and the other children living at his orphanage, many Canadian children have been asking what they can do to help Son Pham and others like him.
Overview:
The Children’s Bridge Foundation has developed a fundraising program to be used at schools and with school-aged children. This program is both simple and easy to implement. The materials required to hold a Children’s Bridge Foundation Change for a Change Fundraiser at your school are below.

Who Benefits:
Orphaned and abandoned children living in the poorest orphanages in Ethiopia and Asia will directly benefit from this program being implemented at your school. Things we take for granted education and medical care are well beyond the financial capability of most of those orphanages. The funds raised through this initiative will be used to support the implementation of new, and the expansion of existing educational and medical programs for needy children and orphanages.
How it Works
- A student, teacher, principal or class would initiate this program at their school.
- The entire school would be informed about the initiative (likely through an assembly)
- A letter would be sent home to parents telling then about the initiative. This letter would inform parents that, on a specified day, they are requested to send spare change to school with their child for the purpose of helping school- aged orphaned and abandoned children around the world through the Children’s Bridge Foundation.
- All participating schools will be recognized for their donations.
