Volunteer

Canadians have a wonderful history of volunteerism and community involvement. Volunteers with CBF can make positive changes in an individual child life. What are the gifts or talents you are able to volunteer in the: health care, education, fundraising, event planning and international development? The work of volunteers is essential to supporting the needs of individual children around the world!


CBF Fundraising Suggestions for School-Age Children and Teens:

* Host a Variety Show, Music Evening, Fashion Show, Talent Show or Karaoke Night. Enlist the support of your friends along with a trusted teacher or parent to supervise the event. Ask permission from your school Principal to use your school gym or auditorium to host the CBF fundraiser event. Charge a fee for each event ticket and donate the sales from the tickets to your favorite CBF project.

* Host a Bake Sale at your school. Have your friends and family donate baked goods. Ask permission from your school principal to host the CBF fundraiser. Proceeds from the bake sale can be donated to your favorite CBF project.

* Charity Babysitting - Enlist the support of 10-20 friends and offer a CBF Charity Babysitting weekend. You and your friends could donate the monies you've earned from babysitting over the weekend to your favorite CBF project.

* Car Wash - During the Spring and Summer months host a car wash using a local community centre, church or school. Be sure to ask permission to use their facility to host a CBF fundraiser car wash. Enlist the support of 10-15 family and friends to help you with the car wash and advertise in your local community the week of the car wash. Proceeds from the car wash can be donated to your favorite CBF project.

* Silent Auction - Enlist the support of 20-40 friends and family who are willing to donate items to be auctioned. These items could include but are not limited to: gift cards, books, babysitting certificates, breakfast certificates, lunch certificates, dinner certificates, yard/lawn maintenance work, dog walking etc. You can also approach businesses in your community to donate goods for your CBF Silent Auction. Examples could include: gift baskets from local pharmacies, movie coupons for local theatres, gift certificates for local restaurants and local sporting team events. Proceeds from the Silent Auction can be donated to your favorite CBF project.

* Participate in a community run/walk where you identify your chosen charity as Children's Bridge Foundation www.cbfoundation.com and then get sponsors to support your run/walk. Proceeds from the event are donated to your favorite CBF project.
